Vogalonga accomodations and details

Accommodations:

We will be staying in a venetian palazzo that has been renovated into three large airy and elegant apartments in the san Marco area of historic Venice. The neighborhood is convenient to the historic center, the rialto market, the accademia bridge and many good neighborhood restaurants.

Every one will have their own bedroom, mostly their own bathroom, though there are a few shared bathrooms. The apartments are beautiful, and the building has air-conditioning and internet service.

The palazzo fronts on a small (quiet) canal and is close to the san Angel vaporetto stop.

quads

Equipment:quad

We will be rowing the Max Planck, the Vater Rhein and the Otmar Schweitzer, three worthy 4x+that have rowed the Vogalonga nine times:( they know the way!) and joining forces with several german and italian rowers who bring their sense of humor, as well as their past experience rowing this race. The Vogalonga is a non competitive race for experienced rowers. It is long race that is challenging because of the large numbers of participants of all nationalities and craft, and because the weather in the lagoon, while usually peaceful, can vary. It is great fun, great camaraderie, and hard work!

Costs:red carpet
As anyone who has done camps with us in the past knows, we like to eat well and be comfortable. We take care of all the planning details for you. This is an amazing opportunity to view Venice as it was lived, from the water. The cost is $3500.00 all inclusive of housing, meals, rowing, entry fees and vaporetto pass. We do not include your transportation to and from Venice, though we will help you coordinate transfers with other participants. The cost for a cheering supporter, sharing a rowers room, is $1700.00. If two rowers want to share a room, we can offer a $500 discount. We do not have a lot of spaces (10 seats total) and so will need a $500.00 deposit to hold a space. Call us!
