Maps, Weather and travel details

We will be based in the town of Montauroux in the south of France, renowned since roman days for it's mild climate. January is mimosa month (we'll miss that) and then spring starts the flowers that have made the area famous for it's perfume industry. We will be rowing on the Lac de St Cassien, a dammed body of water with no current, surrounded by mountains. The lake has no motorized boats on it, (other than the rowing center's launches, by special permit!) and has welcomed international elite teams from all over Europe.

Zoom into this map to view the lake and rowing center.

The Centre d'aviron (rowing center) is located less than 2 miles down a country lane from our hotel, an easy bike ride or walk, so you will not necessarily need a car.

Camp weather forecast

The Centre d'aviron is a year around rowing venue, which is part of it's appeal to the many international teams that row there. Late March and early April will spare us from the summer's heavy heats: we expect sunny and coolish days and cool nights. Think southern California in March.
